“I did think I did see all heaven before me, and the great God himself” (Handel after the premiere of his Messiah in Dublin, april 1742)

The Messiah is without doubt the most often performed oratorio in the history of sacred music. The text focuses on the themes of prophecy and meditation. Beyond his famous « Hallelujah », “Messiah” illustrates, throughout its three parts, the splendor of G.F. Handel’s orchestral and choral writing.

As part of its performance of Handel’s Messiah the Ensemble “Jean-Philippe Rameau”, accompanied by the Baroque Orchestra of Joux, invites anyone interested to sing along with the choir three of the most famous movements. This musical initiative, both accessible and challenging, will allow participants to share a unique experience around a popular masterpiece, emblematic of Western culture.

Sign up for the 3 preparation workshops which will take place in the concert hall of the “l’Esplanade du Lac’ in Divonne-les-Bains, France (click here for exact location) :
